A study of discriminated villages in the east HARIMA region

There are two discriminated villages, Shimosawa and Mukaiyama, in the TAKOKUSA-GO area in Inami-cho, Hyogo Prefecture. They are at the egde of the north west part of the TAKOKUSA- GO. In the late Middle Ages, they were facing the wetland. After the discriminated people had reclaimed the wetland, people that were not discriminated moved from the other villages of the TAKOKUSA-GO to the wetland area, made three new villages, and deprived the discriminated people of their settlements.
