When the Japanese particles “bakari”, “dake”, “nomi” and the Korean particle “man” appear in a sentence, there are cases with Japanese native speakers learning Korean and Korean native speakers learning Japanese, in spite of the same circumstances being established, where sometimes in these expressions differences are being found. In this paper, in order to examine the reasons for these differences, translations from Korean sentences into Japanese sentences have been carried out by both learner groups. The results of the translation analysis, due to the character of “bakari”, “dake”, “nomi” and “man” being particles originally with an ambiguity of the action areas, helps to understand what creates the differences, as far as the learners' different understanding of the particles is concerned, despite of both learner groups translating the same situations. As a task from now on, in order to lessen such differences a little, for Korean native speakers, concentrating even more on the Japanese particles “bakari”, “dake”, “nomi” coming from their actual usage in situation examples, it will be advisable to guide the practical learning in order to broaden the understanding not only in terms of grammar but also pragmatics.
