초록

영어

This paper is about the examination of the research trend of the Japanese historians during the Second World War. To do this, first the author analyzed the historical view of the publishers of Kokushigaisetu issued by the Japanese Ministry of Education , published in 1943 in two volumes. It seems that the writers engaged in the publications researchers have maintained their critical attitude against the old positivism which had asserted the possibility of the reconstruction of the history as a realistic substance by scientific approaches. They thought that the view of the positivists failed to see the reality, falling into the illusion that science or objectivism could prove what happened. Instead of sticking to the scientific approaches as objective tools, they suggested that no one could show the past as it was; historians, they said, could only trace the past through the recorded materials or historical remains, with which they could reconstruct a history. In other words, a history is structured according to the current concerns of the historians and their subjectivity.
