It's possible to divide HARUKI literature among the 1st period and the 2nd period based on 1995. The key word separated in two kinds of time is ‘conversion'. Haruki spoke himself ‘I have converted from detachment to commitment since 1995'. The ‘family image' which comes out in his three kinds work ‘family affair’, ‘honey pie’, and ‘Kafka on the shore' was studied to know whether HARUKI literature changed really. After three works were studied, I knew that main characters of a work of HARUKI recognized others' existence. But they couldn't combat with the ‘huge violence' which intimidates a relation between itself and others. Have to conquer ‘huge violence' to live with others. But main characters are not conquered and are removed. When they can receive others' help and conquer ‘huge violence' perfectly, true conversion of HARUKI literature would consist.
