The purpose of this study was to identify factors that influence change in youths under protection in order to find implications that can help activate and improve the effectiveness of Disposition No. 6. To do so, in this study, a survey was conducted among 258 youths under protection of foster care and treatment facilities for Disposition No. 6. The result showed, in the first-stage analysis regarding change in personality and attitude after admittance to the facilities, R2 was .14 (p<.001) indicating statistical significance. Among personal factors, the variable that had a significant effect was attachment to family (p<.001). In the second stage, the analysis included both personal factors and facility-related ones, and the explanatory power of regression analysis was much higher than in the first stage, with R2 being .478. This finding suggests facility-related factors have substantial effects on changes in personality and attitude of the youths. Next, this study examined the effects of independent variables related to lifestyle changes. First, in the first-stage model, the explanatory power of personal factors related to the dependent variables, i.e., lifestyle changes after discharge, was statistically significant with R2 being 26.3% (p<.001). All of the three variables of personal factors had significant effects on lifestyle changes after discharge, with relationship with friend before admittance p<.01, attachment to family p<.001, and attachment to school p<.05. In the second-stage model, the explanatory power of lifestyle changes after discharge, a dependent variable, was higher than in the first stage, with R2 being 32.9%. The variables that had significant effects on dependent variables were statistically significant, with attachment to family p<.001 and relationship with friends before admittance and satisfaction with the program p<.01. The findings were supported by the result of the survey among the youths. The most important factor for preventing the youths after discharge from reverting to delinquency, as answered by the youths, was love and care of the family. The result of this study suggests the education program for youths under protection of Disposition No. 6 needs to help the youths establish a stable life and that the parents and friends have the most significant influence in overall life of the youths after they are discharged from the protection facilities. Therefore, it is important to help the youths while they are in the facilities to recover their relationship with the parents and regularly contact their friends to have positive influence on one another.

이 연구는 6호처분의 활성화를 위해 보호소년들의 변화에 영향을 미치는 요인이 무엇인지를 찾아 이를 토대로 하여 6호처분의 효과성을 높이는데 도움이 되는 함의를 찾고자 하였다. 이를 위해 6호처분 위탁 아동보호치료시설에 입소한 보호소년 258명을 대상으로 설문조사를 했다. 그 결과 보호소년의 입소 후 성격 및 태도의 변화에 영향을 미치는 1단계 분석에서는 R2가 .14로서 p<.001에서 통계적으로 유의미하였다. 개인적 요인에서 유의미한 영향을 미치는 변수는 가족 간의 애착이다(p<.001). 2단계에서는 개인적 요인과 시설관련 요인을 모두 포함시켜서 분석하였는데 회귀분석의 설명력은 R2가 .478로서 1단계에 비해서 매우 높아졌다. 이는 시설관련 요인이 소년들의 성격 및 태도의 변화에 미치는 영향이 상당히 크다는 것을 보여준다. 다음은 퇴소 후 생활변화에 대한 독립변수들의 영향력을 살펴본 것이다. 먼저 1단계 모형에서는 개인적 요인들이 종속변수인 퇴소 후 생활 변화에 미치는 설명력은 R2가 26.3%으로 통계적으로 유의미하였다(p<.001). 개인적 요인의 3변수 모두 퇴소 후 생활 변화에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤는데 입소 전 친구관계는 p<.01에서, 가족 간의 애착은 p<.001에서, 학교에 대한 애착은 p<.05에서 통계적으로 유의미하였다. 2단계 모형에서 종속변수인 퇴소 후 생활변화에 미치는 설명력은 R2가 32.9%로 1단계에 비해 설명력이 높아졌다. 종속변수에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 변수는 가족 간의 애착은 p<.001에서, 입소 전 친구관계와 프로그램에 대한 만족도는 p<.01에서 통계적으로 유의미하였다. 이러한 결과는 소년들에 대한 설문조사결과에서도 확인할 수 있었다. 퇴소 후 비행에 빠져들지 않기 위해서 가장 중요한 것에 응답한 것은 가족의 관심과 사랑이었다. 이러한 내용을 토대로 한 6호 처분 보호소년의 교육 프로그램은 퇴소 후 생활을 안정적으로 도와 줄 수 있는 프로그램들이어야 한다는 것이다. 보호소년의 퇴소 후 생활 전반에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 대상은 부모와 친구이기 때문이다. 때문에 시설에 있을 동안 부모와의 관계를 회복할 수 있도록 돕고, 친구들과의 접촉을 통해 서로에게 긍정적으로 기여할 수 있도록 유도하는 것이 중요하다.
