This article examines the farmer’s issue attitude and voting behavior in the 2007 Japanese Upper House Election, using the Asahi―Tohokudai survey. Generally speaking, the reason why the DPJ won in Tohoku and Hokuriku area is that the farmer evaluated the DPJ pledged to introduce the income compensation system. However, I cannot establish this hypothesis by the survey data, and I show that issue attitude of the contemporary Japanese farmer consist of three factors. By regression analysis, I find the some farmers have dissatisfaction for the agricultural administration and political system, and it raises the evaluation of the DPJ. And farmers evaluating of DPJ tend to vote for the DPJ. I think that changing farmer’s voting behavior shows that the agricultural iron triangle (LDP―MAFF―ACA) begins to be broken.
