Today, thanks to a remarkably advanced science, we have a reasonably comfortable life. However, there are many expressions of the opposite side of the science in many parts of our life. In other words, human beings have a desire for a stable life as an imperfect being, and it is not good to be expressed as a symbolic image of this primitive and desireful desire from ancient times to the present. The purpose of this study is to investigate the meaning of color symbol and color symbol in the charm of byeoksa amulet. The scope of the study was limited to the typical byeoksa amulet, and the meaning and types of talisman were examined through previous researches and literature data. In addition, the symbols on the street with the charm of the brick wall are divided into symbols and colors, analyzed, and interpreted and analyzed through previous research and literature. As a result of the study, it was found that the symbol in the Byeoksa amulet of emphasizes the mysteriousness and the majesty rather than the readability, and the color has a bigger feature in the role of the symbolic meaning than the beauty and harmony of the color. This is similar to the five-color based on the Yin-yang & five elements of the universe. This is the verification that the cultural and artistic expressions of the group contain not only its own aesthetic sense but also the religion, philosophy and various forms of life of the time. Byeoksa amulet is not merely a magical tool, but it conforms to the flow of nature and shows the humorous aesthetic sense of our nation, which considers the relationship between nature and humanity intimately.

오늘날 눈부시게 발전한 과학으로 인하여 우리는 합리적이고 편안한 삶을 살아가게 되었다. 하지만 우리 삶의 곳곳에는 과학과는 상반되는 길상(吉祥)의 표현이 많이 남아 있다. 유추해 보면 본래 인간은 불완전한 존재로써 안정된 삶의 영위(營爲)를 바라는 욕구가 있다는 것을 알 수 있다. 태고부터 현재까지 이러한 원초적이면서 간절한 염원의 상징적 이미지로 표출된 것이 부적이다. 본 연구에서는 벽사부적에 나타나는 형태와 색채의 분석을 통하여 그 의미를 고찰하는데 연구목적을 가지고 있다. 또한 연구범위를 대표적인 벽사부적으로 한정하여 선행연구와 문헌자료를 통하여 벽사부적의 의미와 종류를 고찰하고 부적의 속성을 파악하여 보았다. 그리고 벽사부적에 나타나는 형태와 색채를 나누어 분석하였다. 연구결과 벽사부적에서의 형태는 특정한 기호와 문자로 구성되어 가독성 보다는 신비함과 주술성을 강조하였다. 그리고 색채는 색의 아름다움과 조화보다는 상징의미 부여 역할에 더 큰 특징이 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이는 자연의 흐름에 순응하며, 자연과 인간의 관계를 친밀하게 생각하는 음양오행사상(陰陽五行四象)에 기반을 둔 오방색과 유사한 모습을 보여준다.
