This study analyzes the aspect of ‘multicultural racial prejudice’ expressed in the multicultural picture book in the Korean society the multicultural racial prejudice and overcoming patterns that are tacitly present in Korea are visually expressed. we analyzed based on the analysis framework applied by Kress and Leeuween' s visual design grammar. Through the child 's expression, the child' s concentricity could be a clue to solving the racial prejudice of multi-culturalism. In the case of interaction function, the reader is provided with a medium distance or a long distance so as to objectively observe the actions of the main characters. In the case of compositional function, the child was placed in the opposite direction in the prejudice aspect. In the process of overcoming the prejudice and overcoming aspect, the child was moved to the center of the screen and showed the characteristic of being placed with Chanda Uncle instead of alone. And by emphasizing the image of overcoming the bias. As a result of the above analysis, it was confirmed that the characteristics of the visual expression of the prejudice and coping process of 'multicultural race' were expressed by the change of behavior, dress, expression, arrangement and overhang.

본 연구는 다문화 그림동화에 표현된 다문화 인종편견의 양상을 분석하여 한국에서 암묵적으로 존재하는 다문화 인종 편견과 극복과정이 시각적으로 어떻게 표현되었는지 그림동화〈찬다삼촌〉을 통해 밝혀보고자 하였다. 시각 이미지 분석툴로는 크레스와 리우웬의 시각디자인 문법을 통해 이미지를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 다문화 인종에 대한 편견의 전개 양상은 행위자의 일방향 행위작용이 주를 이루는 특성을 나타냈으며, 편견 극복 전개과정과 극복양상에서는 적극적인 상호작용을 통해 상호교류의 친화적 특성을 나타냈다. 복장을 통해서도 무채색과 유채색의 대비를 이용해 문화적 차이를 강조하고 있었으며, 아동의 표정을 통해 아동의 동심이 다문화의 인종편견에 대한 해결의 실마리가 될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 상호작용 기능의 경우 독자가 주인공들의 행위를 객관적으로 관찰할 수 있도록 중간거리나 먼 거리로 제공되어 있었다. 구성적 기능의 경우 편견 양상에서는 아동을 양극단에 배치였으며, 편견이 극복되는 과정과 극복 양상에서는 아동을 화면의 중심부로 이동하며 혼자가 아닌 찬다삼촌과 함께 배치되는 특성을 나타냈으며, 빛을 강조하여 돌출시킴으로써 편견 극복의 이미지를 강조하고 있었다. 이상의 분석결과,‘다문화 인종’에 대한 편견과 극복과정의 시각적 표현의 특징은 행위작용과 복장, 표정, 배치와 돌출에 의한 변화로 표현되었음을 확인하였다.
