The rate of smartphone utilization in their 20s, whose are main candidate for compulsory military service in Korea, is reported to be significantly higher than those of other age groups. While the soldiers are not allowed to use smartphones in the military, but few study on how it affects soldiers’ life and psychological conditions during their military services. In this paper, we study on the analysis how the exclusion of smartphone usage on soldiers affect their military life and psychological conditions. In this study, a survey is conducted in conjunction with the rank hierarchy of soldiers, and we derive some meaningful results from the analysis of the survey. The results show that soldiers’ life and psychological conditions vary according to their rank in the military. The outcome of this study is expected to be used to promote military barracks and manage military personnel.

우리나라 군 입대 연령인 20대의 스마트폰 이용률은 다른 연령대보다 월등히 높은 것으로 보고된다. 군에서 일반병사는 스마트폰 사용이 제한되고 있으나, 이것이 군 생활과 심리 상태에 어떤 영향을 주는지에 대한 연구는 이루어지지 않았다. 본 논문에서는 일반 병사들이 스마트폰 사용 제한이 군 생활과 심리상태에 미치는 영향에 대한 분석연구를 수행한다. 본 연구에서는 병사의 계급 체계와 연관하여 설문 조사를 실시하고, 이의 분석을 통하여 의미 있는 결과를 도출한다. 연구 결과는 군 생활과 심리 지표별로 계급별로 다양한 특징을 보여준다. 본 연구의 결과를 군병영 문화 조성 및 병사 관리에 활용 가능할 것으로 기대한다.
