The purposes of this thesis is to discuss Japan's recent anti-Korean movement led by Zaitokukai and to discuss its impacts on Koreans in Japan. Zaitokukai, a growing chauvinism group, claims that there exist ‘special privileges for Koreans in Japan,’ and Koreans in Japan can enjoy more social welfares than Japanese nationals. Although these are no more than discriminatively seditious rumors, many of Japanese people believe that these certainly exist. Zaitokukai's movement is unique in that it aggressively uses web medias, such as Nikoniko Doga, YouTube and Twitter. Zaitokukai's emergence is sensational in that it broke a moral hazard of speaking out derogatory words against not only Koreans but also other Japan’s minority groups in public. Particularly, human rights of ethnic Koreans are seriously being threatened by Zaitokukai and its followers although they have settled in Japan for almost one century. Since Zaitokukai’s activities become more and more drastic, not only verbal abuse but also physical violence are mobilized by their anti-Korean parades held in Shin-Okubo and Tsuruhashi where a large number of Korean population do business and live in. Although Zaitokukai identify itself as a right wing group, it should be regarded more a chauvinistic one because of its hatred and derogatory activities. In other words, Zaitokukai can be characterized more a chauvinistic group than a nationalist one. Not only the other right wings but also the former colleague groups, are eager to differentiate themselves as true right wings saying the right wings never spread hate against the weak. Meanwhile, Zaitokukai is severely criticizing their activities saying it is the very group successfully mobilizing ordinal people.
