This study deals with the commercialization of Web novels made possible by the monetization of the web novel platform. Platform management transforms Web novels into products and changes the way treating readers and writers. Furthermore, it changes the narrative structure of web novels. Therefore, after reviewing the physical conditions of commercialized novels, it is necessary to examine the characteristics of the internal conditions of change in narrative process. In the regular series, the narrative focuses on Cliche’s repetition and variation. Therefore, we need to understand copyright and anticipated plagiarism, and discuss the issues of ethical reproduction and the stimulating setbacks of Cliche’s recycling. The significance of this study is to extract topics that can be studied in the future by dealing with field - oriented discussions. The study of genre varieties of commercialized novels, copyright protection studies, plagiarism studies, research on genre novels, ethics research of web novels, cross-cultural studies on influences of popular culture and popular culture, and platform strategies. Limitations are the shortage of literature, the concentration of researcher focused on genre, and the lack of specificization of specific platform. This is left as a follow-up study.

이 연구는 웹소설의 유료화와 플랫폼의 변화를 다룬다. 플랫폼 운영은 웹소설을 상품으로 전환하며 독자와 작가를 대하는 방식을 바꾼다. 더 나아가웹소설의 서사구조에도 변화를 가져온다. 따라서 상품화된 웹소설의 물리적 조건을 검토한 후, 서사과정의 변화라는 내적 조건의 특질을 살펴볼 필요가 있다. 정기연재를 하면서 서사는 클리셰의 반복과 변주에 중점을 둔다. 그러므로 저작권과 예상표절에 대한 이해가 필요하고, 클리셰의 재활용에서 빚어지는 자극적인 설정과 윤리적 재현의 문제를 논의해야 한다. 이 연구의 의의는 현장 중심의 논의를 다룸으로써 앞으로 연구 가능한 주제들을 추출한 데 있다. 상품화된 소설의 장르적 변이 연구, 저작권 보호 연구, 표절 연구, 장르소설의 재소환 연구, 웹소설 서사의 윤리성 연구, 타 문화권과 대중문화의 영향관계 연구, 플랫폼의 전략 등이다. 한계점으로는 현장 중심의 논의여서 고찰하는 논문 문헌 부족, 연구자가 집중한 장르 편중, 특수성 있는 플랫폼의 연구 구체화 부족이다. 이는 후속 연구과제로 남긴다.
