The purpose of this study is to explore different non-verbal communication for the smooth communication between Koreans and Uzbeks. In this study, the following research questions were raised. First, what are the characteristics of nonverbal communication between Korea and Uzbekistan? Second, what are the non-verbal similarities and differences in Korean and Uzbek behaviors? In this study, were selected five Korean and Uzbek dramas respectively to compare analyzed their non-verbal behaviors frequently used in everyday conversations. Korean and Uzbekistan non-verbal communications, such as greetings, calling people, pinching little fingers, holding a fist, expressing the intention to answer a question, action of sending and receiving goods, finger pointing, touching, eye contact, expression of love, were analyzed. Korea and Uzbekistan are strengthening cooperation in various fields such as the economy, education, construction, and culture, which has led increasing numbers of Uzbeks to come to Korea to study, work or marry. This research has significant implications in the sense that by comparing and analyzing the non-verbal communication behaviors of Korea and Uzbekistan promptly, it has laid the foundations for the successful communication based on their mutual understanding and knowledge.

본 연구의 목적은 한국인과 우즈베크인의 원활한 의사소통을 위해 서로 상이한 비언 어적 의사소통을 탐구하는 데 있다. 이 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 본 연구에서는 다음 과 같은 두 문제를 설정하였다. 첫째, 한국과 우즈베키스탄의 비언어적 의사소통의 특징 은 무엇인가? 둘째, 비언어적 의사소통 관점에서 본 한국인과 우즈베크인의 비언어적 행위는 서로 어떤 유사점과 차이점을 가지고 있는가? 이 문제를 해결하기 위하여 문헌 연구를 통해 한국과 우즈베키스탄의 비언어적 행위를 분석할 표현 상황을 설정하고, 한 국 드라마 5편과 우즈베키스탄 드라마 5편을 선정하여 실제 말하기 장면에서 흔히 사용 하는 비언어적인 행위를 참여관찰 방법을 통해 비교 분석하였다. 비언어적 의사소통에 관한 한국과 우즈베키스탄의 인사 표현, 사람 부르기, 새끼손가락 펴기, 주먹 쥐기, 질문 에 대답하고 싶은 의도 표현하기, 물건을 주고받기 동작, 손가락질하기, 신체 접촉, 눈 맞춤, 사랑 표현 등 항목으로 나누어서 분석 결과를 도출하였다. 한국과 우즈베키스탄은 경제, 정보 통신 기술, 교육, 건설, 문화 등 다양한 영역에서 협력이 강화되고 있다. 이로 인해 우즈베키스탄에서 한국으로 유학, 노동 또는 결혼 목적으로 온 사람들이 많아지고 있다. 본고는 한국과 우즈베키스탄의 비언어적 의사소통 방식을 비교 분석하여 이를 제 공함으로써 서로에 대한 이해와 지식을 바탕으로 성공적인 의사소통을 위해 마련하였다는 데 의미가 있다.
