Despite the sufficient discussions about cultural diversity in Korean society, the Korean people’s perspective of the cultural rights of the minorities is still unsatisfactory. Here, cultural rights can be various contents such as one’s unique cultural expression or approach; support through exceptional provisions or reverse discrimination to protect minority cultural identity that could be sacrificed by physical discrimination; permission and support for the uses of languages, costumes and props revealing cultural identity in the public area; and getting acknowledgment of the right or autonomy of a special representative at the regional or national level. Even in multi-cultural phenomenon in South Korea, the cultural rights of the minorities are distorted. What is detected in multi-cultural policies in South Korea choosing for multi-cultural groups such as marriage immigrants or migrant workers under the guise of ‘multi-culturalism’ is just a shift from assimilationism to integrationism. An ideal model of cultural diversity proposed by this study is cultural bricolage. There is no boundary between mainstream culture and non-mainstream culture, and all elements forming a culture aim at a style of interacting and creating a creative culture while they maintain their characteristics. In other words, it would form a harmony of various colors like the rainbow, prevent an unnecessary conflict and plan for integration and development under cultural relativism rather than uniting into one color. There are different opinions. The problems are recognition and practice.

본 연구는 문화다양성의 새로운 시각을 도출하고자 하기 보다는 여전히 다수의 문화 행태를 ‘보편’이라는 이유로 합의를 요구하는 우리 사회의 문화인식을 검토하고, 이를 극 복하기 위한 실천적 방안을 도출하기 위해 마련되었다. 따라서 이 논문은 문화다양성의 모델로 ‘문화 브리콜라주’, 다시 말해 ‘문화적 연대’를 제안하고자 한다. 이 개념은 이미 다문화주의 유형 중 ‘샐러드 볼’ 또는 ‘비판적’ 다문화주의(부향숙 외, 2014)라는 용어로 우리에게 어느 정도 알려져 있는 개념이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 이 논문에서 ‘문화 브리 콜라주’라는 용어를 사용하는 것은 다른 용어보다 이 용어가 새로운 다문화 사회를 형성 하는데 사회 구성원의 행위주체적 역할을 강조하는 능동적(또는 주체적)인 개념이기 때 문이다. 그러므로 ‘문화 브리콜라주’에서는 주류 문화와 비주류 문화의 경계가 존재하지 않으며, 문화를 구성하는 요소 모두가 자신의 특성을 유지한 채 상호 작용하여 독창적인 문화를 창출하는 양식을 지향한다. 다시 말해 한 가지 색깔로 통일하기보다 다양한 색깔 이 무지개처럼 조화를 이루어 불필요한 충돌을 막고 문화적 상대주의 아래 통합과 발전 을 꾀하려 한 것이다. 이 논문은 이러한 ‘문화 브리콜라주’의 실천적 방안으로서 미셀 브 라의 요리 철학을 구체적 사례로 하여 설명하고, 이를 기반으로 우리의 다문화 사회에 대한 인식을 수정하고자 한다.
