As the social network service becomes universal, the indiscreet use is likely to have a negative effect on the peer relations skill of adolescents. And also the necessity of the study on the SNS excessive use or the use motive of SNS is becoming large. Hereupon in this study the relation between peers among the relationship skill, the basic meaning of the social network service, and the use motive of the adolescent social network was examined. Accordingly this study examined the social network use status of adolescents and examined what relationship existed between the social network use motive of adolescents and the peer relation skill. It would be a guideline to prevent the side effect by the indiscreet and addictive use of the social network by adolescents, which is rapidly increasing. For this study, we conducted a survey of 230 middle school and high school students. In the process, social network service incentive measurement and peer relation technical measurement are used. Statistical analysis method for this study is as follows. First of all we find the average and standard deviation and also research the relationship between social network service incentive measurement and peer relation technical measurement through multiple regression analysis. The result of this study is as follows. First, both male and female students were using the social network service for a change because it was convenient. They were using the social network for the information delivery, information acquisition, communication, and interaction. Second, to look at the correlation by sub-domains of the adolescent social network use motive and peer relationship skill, as the motive of ‘reality departure, virtual ego-formation’ was high among adolescent social network use motives among the adolescent social network use motives was high, the peer relationship skill was low. As the motive on the ‘information delivery/ information acquisition’, ‘personal connection formation/ relationship maintenance’, ‘social communication/ interaction’, and ‘use convenience’ was high among adolescent social network use motives, it was related to the initiative, cooperation, and sympathy which were the peer relationship skill. Although it is a natural result that the social communication and interaction have a positive effect on the peer relationship skill among the use motives of the social network service when the use of the social network service is the relationship formation among people. But when it is used as a motive for escaping from the reality, the youths rather experience the low peer relationship skill, which can be a reason for impairing the primary purpose of the social network service.

소셜 네트워크 서비스(Social Network Service; SNS)가 보편화되면서 SNS의 무분별 한 사용은 청소년들의 또래관계 기술에 부정적인 영향을 끼칠 가능성이 높아지고 있다. 청소년의 SNS 이용실태와 SNS 이용동기에 대한 연구의 필요성 역시 커지는 시점이다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 청소년들의 소셜 네트워크 서비스 이용현황을 파악하고, 청소년들 의 소셜 네트워크 서비스 이용동기와 또래관계 기술 사이의 관련 양상을 조사하였다. 이 를 통해 청소년들의 무분별하고 중독적인 SNS 사용으로 인한 부작용을 미리 예방하는 데에 기여하고자 한다. 본 연구의 대상은 중 고등학생들 230명을 대상으로 설문조사를 시행하였으며, 소셜 네트워크 이용동기 척도와 또래관계 기술척도를 사용하였다. 본 연구에서 사용한 통계 적 분석방법은 먼저 조사 대상자의 성별, 학년, 그리고 소셜 네트워크 이용동기를 알아 보기 위해 평균과 표준편차를 구하였고 소셜 네트워크 이용동기와 또래관계 기술과 어 떤 관계가 있는지 알아보기 위해 상관분석을 실시하고 또래관계 기술에 영향을 미치는 이용동기 요인을 알아보기 위해 다중회귀분석을 사용하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 소셜 네트워크 서비스 사용과 관련하여 여학생, 남학생 모두는 먼저 이용 상의 편의와 기분전환을 위해 SNS를 사용하고 있다. 다음으로는 정보전달·정보획득을 위 해, 그리고 의사소통·상호작용을 위해 소셜 네트워크 서비스를 이용하고 있다. 둘째, 청소년의 소셜 네트워크 서비스 이용동기와 또래관계 기술의 하위영역별 상관 관계를 살펴보면, 청소년의 SNS 이용동기 중 ‘현실탈피·가상적 자아형성’ 동기가 높을 수록 또래관계 기술이 낮게 나타남을 알 수 있었다. 청소년의 SNS 이용동기 중 ‘정보전 달·정보획득’ 동기, ‘인맥형성·관계 유지’, ‘사회적 의사소통·상호작용’, ‘이용편리’에 대한 동기의 높고 낮음이 또래관계 기술인 주도성과 협동, 공감 능력과 관계가 있음을 알 수 있다. 소셜 네트워크 서비스의 이용 목표가 사람들 간의 관계 형성이라는 점을 전제한다면, 소셜 네트워크 서비스의 이용이 사회적 의사소통과 상호작용과 같은 또래관계 기술에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것은 당연한 결과일 것이다. 그러나 현실탈피를 위한 동기에서 사용하는 것은 오히려 또래관계 기술을 저하시킬 수 있으며 이는 소셜 네트워크 서비스 의 주된 목적을 해치는 이유가 될 수 있다.
