본 논문에서는 미디어교육이 실행되는 다양한 방법에 대해 탐색하고 미디어 교육의 정규교과목 편입과 제도화를 위해 다음과 같은 실제적인 정책방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 정규 교육화 방안은 각 등급별로 초등학교, 중학교, 고등학교를 대상으로 차별화 하였다. 그러나 지금까지 미디어 교육에 대해서 부분적으로 논의된 적은 있었지만 다양한 의 견들을 수렴하여 이를 실질적으로 교육 정책에 반영하려는 노력은 많지 않았던 것 같다. 미디어 교육의 중요성에 대해 이미 사회 전반적으로 모두가 인식하고 있는 만큼 이제는 이러한 합의를 바탕으로 실질적이고 구체화된 정책 방안들을 모색하는 것이 그동안 단발 적으로 시청자 운동 단체를 중심으로 진행되어 온 미디어 교육의 차원을 한 단계 끌어 올 리면서 미디어 교육의 새로운 전환점을 맞이하는 길이라 여겨진다.
