The purpose of this study was to analyze on its life and recognition change by addressing this from the perspective of the Japanese who help Korean comfort women for Japanese soldiers. A research method was analyzed through a research method of ‘life history’. It focusing on testimony on experience of Japanese residents in Korea who help Korean comfort women for Japanese soldiers. Thus, it examined a change in major life, a motive of having come to do the apology movement and volunteer activity for comfort-women issue, and about the change process in recognition which was made with being active. As a result of research, first of all, all the research participants are perceiving activity related to comfort-women issue based on their life sphere, the nationality called the Japanese and international marriage. Religion plays a role of turning point in to understand further Korean history and approach Korea. However, they confess that their current activity is said to be the whole of apologetic mind, not religion. The research participants contend that old ladies' regaining the impaired reputation is priority in order to solve the comfort-women issue by being adapted to a change in recognition. Also, even the importance of a media role in Korea and Japan is also emphasized.

본 연구는 한국인 일본군 위안부 할머니들을 돕는 일본인의 관점에서 그들의 삶과 인 식의 변화에 대해서 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해, 연구 참여자들의 증언을 중심으로 그 들의 생애에서 주요 삶의 변화, 사죄 운동 및 봉사 활동의 동기, 이를 통한 삶과 인식의 변 화 과정을 분석했다. 연구결과, 연구 참여자들은 일본인이라는 신분과 국제결혼과 같은 자신들의 삶의 영역에서부터 사죄활동을 인지하고 있다. 사죄활동에 종교가 전환점이 되었지만 현재 활동은 종교보다는 사죄의 마음이 전부라고 말하고 있다. 앞으로 위안부 문제 해결을 위해서는 할머니들의 명예 회복이 최우선이 되어야 한다는 견해를 밝혔다. 본 연구를 통해 위안부 문제에 대한 일본인의 관점을 살펴봄으로써, 위안부 문제에 대한 새로운 담론의 창이 형성되기를 기대한다.
