The major purpose of this study is to provide useful implications for effective EMI(English Medium Instruction) courses of business major by empirically analyzing the factors that influence business student’s intention to take the EMI courses. The research model of this study was built based on the Theory of Planned Behavior(TPB) suggested by Icek Ajzen and data were collected and analyzed by the 2 stage procedure proposed by Ajzen. In the first stage, a pilot questionnaire was administered to elicit accessible behavioral outcomes, normative referents, and control factors. In the second stage, the main questionnaire was administered and data were analyzed. In overall, the research results showed that Ajzen’s TPB is effective in explaining the business student’s intention to take EMI courses. Students’ attitude toward EMI was the most significant factor in determining their intention to take EMI courses while perceived behavior control has a moderate impact and subject norm has a marginal one. More efforts need to be exerted to better understand the attitudes and beliefs of students with regards to EMI in order to implement more effective EMI courses.

본 연구는 대학의 경영학부 전공자들을 대상으로 영어강의 수강의도에 미치는 영향요인을 실증 적으로 분석하였다. 이는 글로벌 인재 양성이라는 상업교육의 당면 과제를 위한 주요 요소인 영어 강의의 활성화와 개선을 위한 시사점을 제공한다는데 의의가 있다. 본 연구에서는 Ajzen이 제시한 계획된 행동이론을 바탕으로 연구모형을 구축하였다. 그가 소개한 2 단계 조사 방법론을 적용하여, 1단계 예비설문조사에서는 영어강의와 관련된 부각된 신념, 규범적 준거인 그리고 통제요인을 도출 하여 설문 문항을 설계하고, 이를 2단계 본 설문조사에서 실행하여 그 결과를 분석하였다. 자료의 분석기법으로는 PLS 구조방정식 모형을 적용하였다. 전체적으로 본 연구의 결과는 계획된 행동이 론이 대학생들의 영어강의 수강의도를 예측하고 설명하는 데 매우 효과적임을 보여주었다. 대학생 들의 영어강의 수강의도는 영어강의에 대한 그들의 태도에 가장 큰 영향을 받았으며, 지각된 행동 통제는 중간 정도의 영향을 그리고 주관적 규범은 한계적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
