Eunpyeong Hanok Village, the Korean traditional village located in Jingwan-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, which has enjoyed reputation as a propitious site for one thousand years, is the “Korean Culture Experience Specialized District.”It began with the purpose of creating Eunpyeong-gu’s unique tourism brand, characterized by the combination of the picturesque natural scenery of Mt Bukhan and tradition such as hanok, which refers to Korean-style houses, Korean language and Buddhist temples. Although Eunpyeong Hanok Village is an important tourism attraction for the development of Eunpyeong-gu, there have not been various studies conducted on the village so far. Around the village are historically important cultural factors including Mt Bukhan, Jingwansa Temple and Samcheonsa Temple. This study, therefore, tried to examine the process to transform Eunpyeong Hanok Village into a cultural and tourism resource. To begin with, the study investigated the concept and types of hanok villages and then, based on this, explored the characteristics of hanok villages as a cultural and tourism resource. In addition, the study examined cases in which traditional houses at home or abroad have been used as cultural and tourism resources and analyzed suggestions from the cases. Furthermore, it aimed at investigating the current situation of Eunpyeong Hanok Village and analyzing and substituting the identity, local features and local conditions of Eunpyeong area based on hanok and the cultural and tourism resource factors of hanok villages, which include experience, education and healing, and the tree factors mentioned above, thereby seeking the strategy to turn Eunpyeong Hanok Village into a cultural and tourism resource.

‘은평한옥마을’은 은평구 진관동에 위치한 한옥마을로서 수려한 북한산 자연경관에 한옥과 한글, 사찰 등 전통을 더해 은평구만의 관광 브랜드로 만들자는 취지로 시작된 ‘韓문화 체험 특구’이다. 은평한옥마을은 북한산과 진관사, 삼천사 등의 역사적으로 중요한 문화요소와 공존하고 있어 지역적으로 중요한 관광자원임에도 불구하고, 이에 대한 다양한 연구가 시도되지 않고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 은평한옥마을과 사례들의 비교분석을 통해 문화관광자원화의 가능성을 모색해 보았다. 먼저 한옥마을의 개념 및 유형을 조사하고 이를 토대로 한옥마을의 문화관광자원으로서의 특성을 살펴본다. 또한 국내·외 전통가옥을 활용한 문화관광자원화 사례를 살펴보고 그 시사점을 분석하여 한옥과 한옥마을의 문화관광자원요소 체험, 교육, 치유 세가지를 제시한다. 그리고 은평한옥마을의 현황을 조사하고, 은평지역의 정체성, 지역특징, 지역여건을 한옥과 한옥마을의 문화관광자원요소에 분석·대입하여 은평한옥마을의 문화관광자원화 전략을 모색하는데 본 연구의 목적이 있다. 은평한옥마을의 활성화 방안으로 제시된 체험콘텐츠는 한옥살이, 공예품 저잣거리형성등을 제시하였고, 교육콘텐츠로는 은평역사한옥박물관과의 연계 교육프로그램 개발, 북한산 민담을 이용한 스토리텔링 프로그램개발 등을 제시하였다. 치유콘텐츠로는 진관사, 삼천사, 북한산 둘레길 코스 개발을 제안하였다. 은평한옥마을은 다양한 문화공간을 바탕으로 문화체험 공간 및 전통문화 관광의 거점으로 활성화 시켜야 한다. 은평구의 자산을 적극 활용한 이야기가 있는 한옥마을이 되어 서울의 새로운 관광지로서 은평의 이야기를 새로 만들어 갈 수 있는 환경을 조성해야한다.
