This study was conducted on jewellery with body restraint reflecting fetishism. The purpose of this study is to analyze type and aesthetic characteristic of fetish jewellery for new jewellery design like Jennifer Crupi, Naomi Filmer, Vetony Vernon. This study referred to recent documents on fetishism and internet fashion websites. It also reviewed 100 jewellery photos in major 4 fashion collections and professional jewellery designers’ websites from 2000 to recent date. The results are as follows: First, the jewellery with face·mouth restraint recalls sexual performance by concealing the face and mouth, with chain and machine. Fantastic mask jewellery makes superpower and new persona. Plastic mouthpieces jewellery design represents the humorous aspect as well. Second, the jewellery with foot·leg restraint expresses a fantastic image and a sexual dominatrix image. It also creates a mythical mood. Third, the jewellery with hand·arm restraint shows experimental futuristic design by controlling the finger's movement and function. It was made of plastic and metal devices. The ring made of gold and horn reflects shamanism. The ring jewellery made by leather, gloves expresses the romantic sexuality. The armor style design, which is used to control the arm shows violence. Other jewels with body restraint represent the form of pressured nipple and neck. The shackled-form of bracelet and necklace suggests performance of masochism and a humorous mood. The fetish of jewellery with physical restraint has five aesthetic characteristics; sexuality, fear, fantasy, futurity, and humor. This study is expected to be used for the development of creative jewellery design and instructional materials.

본 연구는 페티시즘을 반영한 신체구속형 주얼리의 유형별 분석과 미적 특성에 대한 연구이다. 연구방법은 페티시즘과 관련된 전문서적과 선행논문, 인터넷 자료 등을 고찰하였다. 연구범위는 2000년대 이후부터현재까지 발표된 4대 패션 컬랙션과 제니퍼 쿠르피, 나오미 필머, 베토니 베르논과 같은 페티시 주얼리 전문아티스트 작품에서 선별한 총 100점의 사진을 대상으로 하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 얼굴·구강구속형 주얼리는 체인, 기계장치로 얼굴, 구강을 은폐함으로써 성적 퍼포먼스를 연상시켰다. 환상적 의미를 가진 모티브를 적용한 마스크는 인간의 한계를 뛰어 넘는 힘과 새로운 페르소나를 형성하였다. 또한 플라스틱으로 제작된 마우스피스를 응용한 디자인은 유머러스한 면모를 드러내기도 했다. 둘째, 발·다리구속형 주얼리는 기존의 페티시 아이템인 하이힐과 가터벨트, 긴 부츠와 결합된 디자인으로 환상적 이미지와 미래의 성적 지배자의 도상을 나타내었다. 이것은 신화적인 분위기를 연출하기도 하였다. 셋째, 손·팔구속형 주얼리는손가락의 움직임과 기능을 제한한 실험적인 디자인을 선보이며 미래형 주얼리 디자인을 표현하였다. 소재로는 플라스틱과 기계적 장치가 사용되었다. 금과 뿔을 활용하여 물신숭배를 나타내거나, 화이트 가죽과 진주를 통해 로맨틱한 섹슈얼리티를 연출하기도 하였다. 갑옷과 같은 디자인은 성적지배의 의미를 가진다. 기타신체구속형 주얼리는 유두, 목을 구속하는 형태로 나타났으며, 에로틱한 미래 신체이미지를 표현하였다. 잠금장치와 같은 팔찌와 목걸이는 마조히즘적인 퍼포먼스를 연상시키는 동시에 유머러스한 면모를 드러내었다. 페티시즘을 반영한 신체구속형 주얼리의 미적 특성으로는 관능성, 공포성, 환상성, 미래성, 유희성이 있었다. 본 연구의 결과는 국내 패션산업에 창의적인 디자인 개발과 주얼리 디자인을 위한 교육 자료로서 활용될수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
