This article examines the process of promoting the educational drama linked with curriculum run by the Seongnam Office of Education(S.O.E), and focuses on the actual operating process and scenes of drama class at the school. In 2015, the S.O.E designed a project, the 'operation of model schools for the educational drama linked with curriculum'. The 3rd year's program of that project is running smoothly in cooperation with related organizations(Seongnam City, Seongnam Cultural Foundation) of the region, and the participation of schools is also increasing. This article explores the application of educational drama in order to improve passive learning environment and the possibility of change in teaching. The subject of this study was 100 students(4 classes of 6th grade), 4 teachers in charge of the 6th grade, and the teaching consultant, myself of Joogwon Elementary School, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do. The educational drama was designed and performed into 3 types. The educational drama was performed into a co-teaching class with arts instructors during the 1st semester. The shadow puppetry as part of educational drama project was played in september. And, during the 2nd semester. drama class lead by teachers was performed. In the case of lower grades, the educational drama could be taken as a playing-class, but that's not all. The final goal is to draw empathy with the class and the rolls of the students, and make the students be internalized. The learning should be done besides playing. This is the process that leads learning into the life. The educational drama can change teaching only when it is linked with curriculum and reconstituted to every subjects. The artistic value was revealed at most when arts instructors and teachers in charge of teaching cooperate in harmony. However, synergy occurs when drama experts and teachers cooperate each other, it's not impossible to be with drama experts on every teaching. Therefore, even though it lacks dramatic effects, ultimately we should aim at the educational drama lead by teachers at each schools. The finding show that the immersion in classes and participation of students in this study was higher than those of normal classes. I suggest that it is important to provide the students not with the forced memorization but with the circumstances of sympathy and thinking as the learning activities. The difficulty in practicing educational drama class was that teacher's professionalism is needed to design the class fitting to it and teachers groan under the heavy burden of shortage of arts instructors on the spot.

본 연구는 2015년 성남교육지원청에서 기획한 ｢교육과정연계 교육연극수업 시범학교 운영｣이라는 사업 과 연계한 것으로, 2017년에 단위학교(중원초)에서 교육연극수업을 확대 운영한 과정에 초점을 둔 것이 다. 이 사업은 지역 유관기관(성남시청과 성남문화재단)과 협력하여 3년차 안정적으로 지속 운영하고 있으며, 2017년 현재 학교현장의 참여도가 높아지고 있는 상황이다. 본 연구의 목적은 학교수업의 수동적인 학습환경을 개선하기 위해, 교육연극수업을 활용하여 수업의 변화를 도모하는 것이다. 대상은 중원초등학교 6학년 4개반(학생 100명)이며, 수업에 참여한 교사는 6학년 담임 4명과 수업컨설턴트(필자)이다. 교육연극수업의 운영형태는 3가지였다. 첫째, 예술강사와 교사의 협력수업(1학기 역사수업), 둘째 교사와 예술강사가 함께 한 교육연극 프로젝트 수업으로 그림자극 공연 을 하였고, 셋째 교사주도 교육연극수업을 2학기에 진행하였다. 저학년의 경우 교육연극수업이 놀이수업형태로 이루어질 수는 있지만, 그것을 교육연극수업의 전부라 고 인식해서는 안 된다. 교육연극수업의 궁극적인 목표는 학생들이 수업 속으로 감정이입 되어 자신이 만든 상황 속에 몰입되고, 그 과정에서 내면화를 이루어내는 것이다. 놀이 이외 ‘학습’으로 연결되어야 한다. 이것이 학습을 삶으로 연계시키는 과정이기도 하다. 교육연극수업은 교육과정과 연계하여 일반교과 속에서 재구성될 때, 비로소 수업을 변화시킬 수 있다. 예술강사와 일반교사가 협력수업을 할 때 수업의 예술성을 가장 상승시킬 수 있다. 연극 전문가와 수업 전문가가 협력할 때 시너지 효과가 발생하지만, 교육연극수업을 할 때 항상 예술강사를 동반할 수 없는 것이 현실적인 조건이다. 대안적인 방안으로는 예술강사 지원 확대와 교사연수를 심화하는 방안을 제안 하고 싶다. 본교의 교육연극수업 실천사례를 통하여 학생들의 수업몰입과 참여도가 일반수업보다 적극적임을 알 수 있었다. 학생들에게 지식의 습득과정을 암기형식으로 강요할 것이 아니라, 공감하고 생각할 수 있는 수업환경을 만들어가는 것이 의미있는 수업의 단초라고 본다. 교육연극수업을 실천하면서 어려웠던 점은 교육연극수업에 맞도록 수업을 기획하는데는 심도 깊은 수 업 전문성이 요구된다는 점과 현실적으로 예술강사 지원이 한정되어 교사의 부담이 가중된다는 점 등이 있었다.
