Lots of companies should choose the right ERP solution to fit their business environment and enhance productivity. This paper specified the criteria used by companies for investing in ERP systems and for choosing an ERP supplier and explored the features of those factors. A survey was conducted in the Autumn of 2003 by sending the questionnaire to a systematic random sample of 527 companies. A total of 116 usable surveys were received from mailing for a total response rate of 22.01 %. The adaptability and quality of solution is the most important selection criterion for introducing ERP system. At the same time, they considered integration and interface with legacy systems, vendor's image and market leadership as highly important.
