Emerging Business Models and Productivity Improvement under the U-Commerce Environment

The emerging concept of u-commerce(ubiquitous commerce) is expected to be the next generation of change driver for business activities followed by e-commerce and m-commerce. U-commerce can integrate on-line and off-line businesses and also support various functional activities such as material management, marketing and sales, CRM, logistics, SCM, asset management and human resource management. This paper intends to explore the business applications of u-commerce and to develop emerging business models under ubiquitous environment to improve business competitiveness and productivity. The study examines technological backgrounds of u-commerce including ubiquitous computing and ubiquitous network and identifies the possible problems or obstacles to the implementation of u-commerce.
