Effective Followership and its Predictors:A Organizational Productivity Perspective
초록
영어
On the basis of theoretical linkages between effective followership and organizational productivity, this study examined the influence of individual personality (self-efficacy, self-esteem, self-monitoring, and achievement motivation) and perceived leadership (super leadership and transformational leadership) on effective followership. Data were collected from a sample of 333 white-collar workers (74% response rate) employed in 18 firms in the Seoul metropolitan area. The hypothesized predictors were tested by using the correlation analysis and the hierarchical regression analysis. The correlations with effective followership were self-efficacy = . 51, self-esteem = . 61, self-monitoring = .41, and achievement motivation = .41. The interaction effects of personality characteristics and perceived leadership styles were not found to be significant. Implications in terms of selection, training & development, and organizational productivity were discussed.
