When we examined the movement of capital stock in Korea through different types of industry, the increasing rate of capital stock during 1992~06 is lower than 1966~91. However, we can find that the accumulation of capital is increasing. Moreover, the increasing rate of transport, storage, and communication is 151.9%, which is higher than the previous period(1966~91). This reflects the rapid growth of Korea's IT industry and accumulation of capital. In the case of Japan, the increasing rate is lower than the previous period(1966~91). Particularly, in the mining and quarrying industry, it is -100.0%, which also means there is almost no accumulation of capital. When we examined the movement of labor stock, in Korea it has been increasing from 1966~06. However, in case of Japan, it is increasing during 1966~92 while it is decreasing during 1993~06 due to the burst of the bubble economy. Yet from 2004, during the period of economy convalescence, labor stock is accumulating once again. During the period of measurement(1966~06), the capital investment exerted most significantly in Korea, while in Japan, the labor stock has exerted.

한국의 산업부문별 자본스톡의 움직임을 보면 한국의 경우 전체적으로 전기(1966~1991) 보다 후기(1992~2006)의 증가율은 둔화되고 있으나 지속적으로 자본축적이 이루어지고 있 음을 알 수 있다. 또 대부분의 부문에서 전기에 못 미치는 증가율 추이를 보이고 있으나 운 수창고･통신업은 오히려 전기를 능가하는 전기대비 151.9%의 증가율 추이를 보여 한국 통 신업계의 괄목할 만한 성장을 자본축적의 면에서도 엿볼 수 있다. 일본의 경우, 모든 부문 에서 증가율이 전기(1966~1991)보다 감소하는 추이를 보이고 있는데, 특히 광공업부문의 증가율은 전기대비 ‐100.0%를 기록해 자본스톡 축적이 거의 이루어지지 않고 있다는 것을 알 수 있다. 노동스톡 변화를 보면, 한국은 1966년 이후 꾸준한 증가 추세를 보이고 있는 반면 일본 의 노동스톡은 1966년 이후 급속히 증가하다 1993년부터 감소 추세를 보이고 있는데, 이 는 1993년 일본 버블경제의 붕괴와 함께 노동스톡의 축적이 둔화된 때문이라 생각된다. 이 후 일본경제가 회복기에 접어든 2004년부터 노동스톡의 축적이 이루어지고 있는 것을 알 수 있다. 추계기간(1966~2006)동안 한국과 일본의 경제성장과 거시경제변수의 움직임을 살펴볼 때, 한국의 경제성장에 가장 큰 영향을 끼친 경제변수는 자본이었고, 일본의 경우에는 노동 이었다.
