In this paper, “~nikui” and “~zurai” which show the level of difficulty in Japanese lexicals are examined. The study results are summarized as follows. ⅰ) “~nikui” is connected to most of the will / involuntary verbs, but “~zurai” is connected only to the will verb. When a verb such as “nomu” or “yomu” is connected to ~nikui, it means that the operation or action is not easy. On the other hand, in the case of a verb such as “iu” or “kaeru”, it is controlled by actions or actions due to psychological factors in putting it into action. In addition, when “nikui” is connected to an involuntary verb, the subjective evaluation of the speaker is not reflected because it indicates the general object nature. On the other hand, “~zurai” is also used to mean “can not ~” in addition to “difficult to ~”. ⅱ) “~nikui” and “~zurai” are interchangeable for most will verbs. “~nikui” tends to be used for a subject, and “~zurai” tends to be used when a speaker has a cause. Also, when they are not compatible, “~nikui” is connected to an involuntary verb, and “~zurai” is used in the meaning of “can not ~” rather than “difficult to ~”.

본 논문에서는 일본어 접사 중에서 난이도를 나타내는 ｢∼にくい｣와 ｢∼づら い｣에 대하여 고찰하였다. 고찰 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. ⅰ) ｢∼にくい｣는 의지･무의지 동사 대부분에 접속되지만, ｢∼づらい｣는 의지동사에만 접속된다. ｢∼にくい｣에 ｢読む｣ ｢飲む｣와 같은 동사가 접속 되면, 그 동작이나 행위가 용이하지 않다는 의미를 나타낸다. 반면에 ｢言う｣ ｢帰る｣와 같은동사의 경우에는, 그 행위를 실행하는데 심리적인 요인으로 인하여 동작이나 행위에 제어를 받는다. 또한 무의지 동사에 ｢∼にくい｣가 접속될 경우, 일반적인대상의 성질을 나타내므로 화자의 주체적인 평가는 반영되지 않는다. 반면 ｢∼ づらい｣는 ｢∼하기 어렵다｣이외에 ｢∼할 수 없다｣라는 의미로도 사용된다. ⅱ) ｢∼にくい｣와 ｢∼づらい｣는 대부분의 의지동사의 경우, 상호 호환이 가능하다. ｢∼にくい｣는 대상에, ｢∼づらい｣는 화자에 원인이 있는 경우에 사용되는 경향이 있다. 또한 이들이 호환이 되지 않는 경우에는 ｢∼にくい｣가 무의지동사에접속했을 경우이며, ｢∼づらい｣는 ｢∼하기 어렵다｣ 보다 ｢∼할 수 없다｣라는 의미로 사용했을 경우이다.
