The Effects of Employer Characteristics on QWL - Moderated by EAP(Employee Assistance Program) -

The purpose of this study is to prepare an opportunity of reinterpretation on the QWL standard followed by the periodic trend. In order to search for the introduction and promotion strategies of the Employee Assistance Program which is one of the corporate welfare systems recently being highlighted, certain type of implications have been attempted to be gained as a problem awareness on the practical level through research to begin with. As a result of analysis, while the validity of a model set up based on the relationship between employer characteristic, QWL and employee assistance program has been accepted, it has shown the fact that an examination on the research model reflecting various relationships between the variables is a task that much be continued. Especially, the search of employer characteristics called employer cooperation and social responsibility on the employee assistance program at current point in time when the establishment of Industrial Safety Act and support system on job stress management and mental health promotion issue of the laborers are being prepared is expected to become a useful research project. The reason is because the employer is a variable having greatest influence in the organization’s performance so that the role of an employee, especially the support activity, is being emphasized as to which direction the relationship between employees and labor union will progress by its strategic decision. As a result of this study, the satisfaction assistance program on the employees by the introduction of employee assistance program and promotion of operation at current point in time has mediating effect between employer characteristics and QWL while having positive effect in terms of QWL improvement.
