Some of the Noh work by Zeami is about a heroine waiting for her husband. Among these works, in this thesis, I considered the heroine's mentality in Noh 『Izutsu』 and 『Kinuta』, especially the nature of the heroine's deep resentment. The research showed that the two works are different in terms of the manner in which the heroine expresses her deep resentment. In Noh 『Izutsu』, the heroine's deep resentment was expressed covertly, rather than explicitly. In contrast, in Noh 『Kinuta』, the heroine's deep resentment was expressed explicitly and her resentment of her husband was expressed very directly and blatantly. Although the heroine of Noh 『Izutsu』 was sentenced to the fate that she should wait for her husband forever, the heroine of Noh 『Kinuta』 unexpectedly attains Buddhahood easily and she is not paid to remain a 「waiting woman」. Because Noh 『Kinuta』 is a work that appeared much later than Noh 『Izutsu』, I consider the writer Zeami to possibly have had some change of personal thinking about the 「waiting woman」, and it is very interesting that this is suspected to be the basis of the signs of change.

제아미(世阿彌)의 노(能) 작품 중 남편을 기다리는 여인을 주인공으로 한 작품이 몇 있는데, 그 중 『이즈쓰(井筒)』와 『기누타(砧)』 두 작품을 대상으로 하여, 대사에 나타난 그녀들의 내면 분석을 토대로 그녀들의 한(恨)이 어떠한 양상으로 표출되고 있는가를 고찰하였다. 이 고찰을 통해 밝혀진 그녀들의 恨은 『이즈쓰(井筒)』의 경우에는 비록 노골적이진 않지만 은연중에 내비치는 식으로 표출되고 있으며, 『기누타(砧)』의 경우에는 노골적으로 표출되어 남편에 대한 원망도 직접적으로 마구 해대는 식이다. 그러나 『이즈쓰(井筒)』의 여주인공은 앞으로도 영원히 남편을 기다려야 하는 숙명에 처해지지만, 『기누타(砧)』의 여주인공은 의외로 成佛을 쉽게 하는 결말을 맞아 더 이상 「기다리는 여인」으로서 남지 않아도 된다. 『기누타(砧)』가 『이즈쓰(井筒)』에 비해 훨씬 나중에 나온 작품이라, 「기다리는 여인」에 대한 작자 제아미의 개인적 생각에 모종의 변화가 생겨, 그 변화의 흔적을 찾을 수 있는 근거가 되는 측면이 아닌가 싶어 흥미롭다.
