This research discussed the Sino Japanese classification of characters that belong to rhyme Hou(侯) on the new standard chart of Sino Japanese characters(2010) in the six Sino Japanese dictionaries, and the following conclusions were drawn. 1) Grade Ⅰ rhyme Hou(侯) in the Go’on appears mainly as a -u type, but is combined with other types such as –ou, –o, and -uu. However, the –ou, –o, and –uu types were classified as a Kan’yo’on in many of the dictionaries. 2) The -o type of rhyme Hou does not only appear in the Go’on, but also in the Kan'on. Therefore, the -o type of rhyme Hou cannot be Kan’yo’on and it must classified with initials. 3) The -uu type of rhyme Hou is classified as a Kan’yo’on in many dictionaries, but it should be classified as a Go’on instead, because the -uu type appears in the Go’on text. 4) The -ou type of rhyme Hou does not only appear in the Kan’on but also in Go’on. Specifically, dental not only appears as an -ou type in the Kan’on but also in the Go’on. Therefore, the -ou type of rhyme Hou should be classified with initials in cases where it does not appear as another type in the Go’on text.

본고에서는 新常用漢字表(2010)에서 流攝 侯韻에 속하는 漢字에 대해 大漢和(1986), 講談社(1997), 大修館(2002), 三省堂(2003), 小學館(2012), 學硏敎育(2012)의 漢和辭典 6종을 대상으로 그 字音 규정을 고찰한 결과, 다음과 같은 문제점이 드러났다. 1) 流攝 開口1等 侯韻은 吳音에서 주로 1拍의 -u형으로 출현하지만, -o형, -ou형, -uu형이 혼재하는데, 대부분의 漢和辭典에서 이 -o형, -ou형, -uu형을 慣用音으로 규정하고 있다. 2) 侯韻에는 吳音자료에서도 漢音자료에서도 공통적으로 -o형이 출현한다. 따라서 侯韻의 -o형은 慣用音으로 처리할 수 없으며, 그 聲母를 통해 吳音이냐 漢音이냐를 판가름해야 한다. 3) 많은 漢和辭典에서 侯韻의 -uu형을 慣用音으로 규정하고 있지만, 이는 吳音자료에서 출현하기 때문에 吳音으로 규정해야 한다. 4) 侯韻은 漢音에서 주로 -ou형으로 출현하지만 -ou형은 吳音에서도 출현하며, 특히 齒音字는 吳音･漢音 모두 -ou형으로 출현한다. 따라서 侯韻의 -ou형은 吳音에서 해당 漢字가 다른 字音形으로 출현하는지의 여부와 그 聲母의 반영을 통해서 吳音이냐 漢音이냐를 판가름해야 한다.
