This paper focuses on Norte by Edmundo Paz Soldan, a renowned Bolivian Latino author. The novelmainly deals with violence, crime, andmadness that lead to confinement and incarceration; these national/transnational biological powers are exercised to detain and expel illegal or unwanted immigrants, especially near the US-Mexico border area. The main characters, a railroad bracero and a Mexican criminal, embody the meaning of trains in Norte, which symbolize survival resources and free transportation that ultimately cause displacement, isolation, and death. The novel documents the influence of aesthetic rebellion or the possible transmittance of creativeness of schizophrenia and criminality, which are represented by the painful and destructive lives of these illegal immigrants who once belonged to, but disappeared in the vast territory of Norte.
