This study aimed to examine the construct validity regarding the concept of job competency of university students majoring in Tourism. First, previous studies were reviewed, from which 20 key factors were derived to conduct a survey. The survey was conducted on university students majoring in Tourism-related studies in Korea from September 20 to October 19, 2016. A total of 759 questionnaires were retrieved, and among them, 698 questionnaires were used for analysis. An exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was performed on the aforementioned 20 factors of job competency, among which five factors were selected: communication, critical thinking, leadership, customer consideration and emotional flexibility. Subsequently, a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was performed to verify whether the job competency factors had multi-dimensionality, and whether the five factors above adequately explained the concept of job competency. The results of the analyses showed that the individual factors significantly explained the concept. Consequently, it can be claimed that these five factors, regarding job competency, conferred construct validity on the survey.

본 연구는 관광학 전공 대학생들의 직무역량에 대한 구성 타당성을 연구하기 위하여 실시되었다. 먼저 선행연구를 통하여 20개 항목으로 구성하여 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문조사는 2016년 9월 20일부터 10월 19일까지 국내의 관광 관련 전공이 개설되어 있는 대학생들을 대상으로 모두 759부를 회수하여 최종적으로 698부가 분석에 이용되었다. 먼저 직무역량 20개 항목에 대하여 탐색적 요인분석(EFA)을 통하여 5개의 요인이 도출되었으며, 요인명은 ‘의사소통, 비판적 사고, 리더십, 고객배려, 감정조절’로 명명하였다. 따라서 직무역량 요인이 다차원성을 지니고 있는지와 이렇게 구성된 5개의 요인이 직무역량 개념을 제대로 설명하고 있는 지를 검증하기 위하여 확인적 요인분석(CFA)을 실시한 결과, 개별 요인은 유의미하게(significantly) 설명되고 있는 것으로 확인이 되었다. 따라서 직무역량 요인은 구성타당성을 확보하고 있음을 주장할 수가 있다.
