The purpose of this study is to explore the direction of tourism development and economic development of agricultural heritage while spreading the value of agricultural heritage. To do this, it is necessary to identify what local residents and visitors recognize as important in agricultural heritage, and how the development of agricultural heritage can help stakeholders. Through considering the analysis above, it is suggested for some ways to increase the value of agricultural heritage in the future. The results of the study are as follows. First, in recognizing the importance of the five agricultural heritage requirements, farmers recognized the importance of crop production more than urban people, and the remaining four requirements were lower than those of urban residents. Second, local residents recognized that they were given benefits such as increased visits to tourists and an increase in the number of support projects after the government designated important agricultural heritage. Thirdly, most of the respondents do not know about this system. In addition, based on the fact that the recommendation of the mass media and acquaintances was the greatest information or route during the visit, it can be predicted that the publicity as stated above contents the above contents will be effective in the future tourism resources of the agricultural heritage area. The results of this study provide some implications for the future tourism resources using agricultural heritage.

이 연구는 농업유산 지역 내 지역주민과 방문객의 농업유산 인식 정도를 파악한 후, 농업유산의 가치를 확산시키는 한편 농업유산의 관광자원화와 경제적 개발 방향을 탐색하기 위한 시론적 차원에서 작성되었다. 이를 위해 지역주민과 방문객이 농업유산 중 중요하다고 인식하는 것은 무엇인지, 농업유산 개발이 이해관계자들에게 어떤 도움이 되는지 확인하고, 향후 농업유산의 가치 확산 위해 몇 가지 방법을 제안했다. 연구 결과를 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 5개의농업유산 요건에 대한 중요성 인식에서 농업인은 도시민에 비해 ‘농작물 생산활동’만 더 높게 중요성을 인식하고, 나머지 4개 요건은 도시민에 비해 낮은 수치를 나타내고 있었다. 따라서 농업인들이 나머지 4개 요건을 좀 더 높게 인식할 수 있는 방안을 모색한다는 결론이 이끌어졌다. 둘째, 지역주민들은 국가중요농업유산 지정 후 ‘관광객 방문증가’와 ‘지원사업 증가’ 등의 혜택이 주어지고 있다고 인식했다. 이는 농업유산이 지역의 경제발전에 일정한 기능을 하고 있다는 인식을 확인한 것으로 적지 않은 의의가 있다고 판단된다. 향후 농업유산을 기반으로 한 경제적 자원화 역시 중요하게 다뤄야 할 것으로 보인다. 셋째, 방문객은 대부분 국가중요농업유산제도를 알지 못하고 있어 이에 대한 대응책이 필요했다. 또한 방문객의 방문 경로는 대중매체와 지인추천이었으므로 향후 농업유산 지역의 관광자원화에서 이상의 내용을 토대로 한 홍보가 효과적일 것이라는 예측이 가능하다. 이와 같은 연구결과는 향후 농업유산을 활용한 관광자원화와 관련해 일정한 시사점을 제공하고 있다. 예를 들어, 이 지역들에 보조금을 지급하는 ‘경관보전직불제도’를 시행하여 농민들이 농업을 지속하도록 돕고, 이를 통해 농업유산의 관광자원화를 이루는데 가장 기본적인 일이며 그 시행이 시급하다는 점을 확인할 수 있었다.
