This study is to articulate a direction of Jesu Island mission through Jesu mission history for 108 years in terms of church planting perspectives, and a practical discussion and a specific direction through survey results by quantitative research method. This study analyzed 284 pastors who are ministering in different denominational churches in Jesu, regarding their mission situation and characteristics as well as obstacles in Jesu Island. As results, first, this study found that the pastors showed high perception on recognizing the obstacles for Jesus mission and low perception on recognizing the mission approachableness for mission situation and their ministerial achievements in Jesu. They showed negative aspects for Jesu Island mission situation on the whole. Next, the study showed that the obstacles of mission methods such as socio-cultural and historical one influence negatively to Jesu mission situation and the pastors’ ministerial achievement as well. Finally, it showed that the approachableness to mission situation and the church planting in Jesus influence positively to Jesu Island. From the results, this study suggested missional strategies demanded by church planting perspectives and main land church’s roles in terms of social, cultural, economic changeable situations in Korean Christianity’s actualities.

본 연구는 제주도 선교지역의 환경 실증조사연구를 통한 선교사역 모델을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 108년 선교역사 지역인 제주도 현지 목회자 284명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 제주도 선교 및 목회활동의 일반적 실태, 선교 및 목회활동상의 사회문화적, 역사적, 선교 방법적 장애요인, 교회개척 및 운영상의 선교 상황적 용이성과 목회성과에 영향을 미치는 요인을 알아보고 특수한 선교 상황의 이해와 앞으로 선교방향성의 구체적인 실천적 논의와 방향을 찾아보고자 하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 제주도 지역 현직목회자들은 선교 장애요인에 대해 높게 인식하고, 선교 상황적 용이성이나 목회성과에 대해서는 낮게 인식하여, 전반적으로 제주도 선교환경이 부정적인 측면이 다소 크다는 점을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 선교 및 목회활동상의 사회문화적, 역사적, 선교 방법적 장애요인은 선교 상황적 용이성과 목회성과에 각각 부정적인 영향을 미치고 있었다. 셋째, 교회 개척 및 운영상의 선교 상황적 용이성은 목회성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 있었다. 이러한 결과를 통해, 본 연구는 제주도의 사회, 문화, 경제적 상황 및 변화에 따른 교회 역할에 대한 방향성을 제시하고자 하였다. 제주도 선교사역의 과제는 ‘외부인과 내부인 융합의 구심적 역할’, ‘선교사 훈련방법의 구체화’, ‘선교 전초기지 인프라 마련’으로 본 연구는 이것을 미래과제로 제시하였다.
