Facing the 500 year anniversary of the Reformation, this study will explore an alternative to reform the Korean Protestant Church and Christians with the establishment of identity. We Korean Christians have experienced an absence of self-identity as Christians. What should we Christians identity with? And how should we Christian teachers teach the next generation, with a healthy identity based on a sound theological confession? In order to respond to these questions, this paper has the following components: First, through a psychological approach, this study will explore how Martin Luther's identity is to be established by Erik Erikson's theory. Second, applying Luther's case to C. G Jung's elements of personal unconscious and collective unconscious, this paper will deal with the process of Luther and how he had overcame his shadows in his period of growth and found 'the self' through individualization. Third, in order to get a clue to solve the task of the identity crisis of Korean Christians, this paper will explore the son of man Christology from the perspectives of systematic theology and biblical theology. Luther was a man who fought to overcome his complex with a balance between archetype and complex and his shadow with a balance between ego and shadow. He tried to get over distorted images of parents and God in personal unconscious and collective unconscious. Finally, he accomplished the Reformation, finding a balanced, harmonized, and holistic self. With the help of Jung's psychological perspective, I will trace a historical person, Luther, in this study, based on the psycho-historical study of Luther by Erik Erikson and theological approaches about the Son of Man Jesus as precedent studies. Through Martin Luther's case study, examining how he looked forward to his identity, I would like to offer several suggestions about Christian education in order to overcome their identity crisis for Korean Christians with a role model of Jesus Christ's Son of Man identity.

종교개혁 500주년을 맞으며, 한국교회의 침체와 성도감소, 특히 교회학교, 중고등부와 청년부의 쇠퇴를 보며, 청소년, 청년기의 그리스도인으로서의 자아정체성 확립의 중요성을 되새겨 봄으로, 이로 인한 다음세대인 교회학교와 청년층의 부흥을 도모하고자 하는 것이 이 연구논문의 필요와 목적이다. 본 연구는 마르틴 루터(Martin Luther)가 어떠한 역사적 정황과 생애적 상황 속에서 자아정체성을 찾아나갔는지를 심리학적으로 살펴보며, 그 본(本)으로서의 예수 그리스도의 인자정체성속에서 한국교회와 성도들의 정체성위기를 돌파 할 기독교 교육적 제언을 모색하고자 하는 것이다. 역사적 인물인 루터의 자기발견 내지는 개성화가 선행연구인 청년루터에 대한 역사적 심리학적 연구를 시도한 에릭 에릭슨(Erik H. Erikson)이 말한 자아정체성(self-identity)과의 관계들을 통해 살펴보며, 그 대안적 제시로 오늘날 한국교회 성도의 그리스도인 자아정체성확립이라는 과제 속에 예수의 인자정체성을 통해 그 실마리를 찾아보려는 것이다. 루터라는 종교개혁자의 개혁사상이 인간 마르틴의 자아 정체성과 함께 어떻게 확립되어 나갔는지를 먼저 선행연구인『청년루터』를 통해 살펴보고, 종교개혁자 마르틴 루터의 이러한 자아정체성의 갈등과 부모의 이미지 속 하나님에 대한 투사들을 어떻게 극복하고, 자기발견 내지는 개성화를 이루었는지를, 칼 융(C. G. Jung)이 말하는 “의식,”과 그리고 “개인무의식”과 “집단무의식”의 요소들 속에 루터를 대입시켜 보며, 분석 심리학적 측면으로 다루어 볼 것이다. ‘우리는 그리스도인으로 어떠한 정체성을 가져야 하며, 또 어떠한 정체성을 가진 그리스도인으로 자라나는 세대를 양육해야 할 것인가?’ 이 실천신학적이고 기독교교육학적인 질문들의 대답을 위한 분석으로 본고는 랄프 타일러(Ralph W. Tyler)가 말한 교육학의 두 체(screens) 중 하나인 심리학을 사용할 것이다. 기존 발달심리학, 그중에서도 사회적 발달심리학으로 역사속의 인물 루터를 탐구하였던 에릭슨의 선행연구를 본으로 하여 융의 분석심리학의 주장들을 빌려와 페르조나를 벗고, 그림자를 극복하여, 자기를 찾아 개성화를 이루어 종교개혁의 대업을 이루었던 루터의 전인적 정체성 확립의 모습 속에서 그가 역사적으로 갈구했던 성경 속 예수님의 인자로서의 메시야정체성의 본을 통하여 그 해답을 찾으려는 것이다.
