Play educators in general highschool are required to have both educational qualifications and artistic qualifications, which are inseparable concept like the front and back of coins considering special conditions and circumstances of production of play performed in highschool. That's why production of play in highschool absolutely requires the ability of teachers who have direction competence that can manage broad areas such as teaching, artistic performance, designing and producing. What are qualifications that play educators should have in the highschool play production environment? Specifically first, they should have continuous the attitude of self-examination. Second, they always have to hold the attitude of critics during the process of producing plays. Another qualification is the one as a director. First, they should have exuberant artistic imagination. Second, they have to interpret scenario clearly and to share the interpretation. Third, the harmony of acting and other technical elements is important. Lastly, the researcher of this study emphasized that the combination of education and ideal direction should be pursued. First, play educators should play a role as an overall director of production of play. Second, they have to seek education participants' positive changes.

일반 고등학교라는 배움터에서 교육과 공연의 변증법 속에 이루어지는 연극 제작은 예술 고등학교 내지 전문극단에서 올리는 공연과는 그 접근 방식이나 목표에서 근본적인 차이점이 있다. 무엇보다 일반 고등학교에서 연극제작을 담당하는 연극교사는 교육적인 면과 예술적 성취가 동시에 균형을 이루도록 지도해야 한다. 또한 교육적이면서 예술가적인 기질을 발휘하여 참여 학생들을 북돋우고, 가르치고, 보 호하고, 마음을 사로잡고, 영감을 줄 수 있어야 한다. 마지막으로 연극교사는 교육과 연출의 이상적인 접목을 통해 연극제작의 총체적인 지휘자로서 기능하여 교육 참가자들의 긍정적인 변화를 모색해야 한 다. 요컨대, 본 연구는 일반 고등학교에서 연극제작을 담당하고 있는 교사에게 필요한 자격요건을 제시 함으로써 학교에서의 연극제작을 통한 교육적･예술적 효과를 높이는데 실질적인 도움을 주고자 한다.
