Performance is one of the oldest human artistic practices. It is not an exaggeration to say that all humans have DNA to act. Societies and cultures, such as sons, spouses, teachers, writers, etc., have defined individuals as diverse roles and humans have been educated to act according to their prescribed roles. We are acting and acting every day for the right behavior for each role. Therefore, movies and performances are closely related. Also, in the case of the non-verbal version, which is represented by the presenter, it is an extended performance movie format of Live Cinema which is a combination of cinema and performance. In this study, I try to discuss the form of performance that can be found in the works of , the first female experimental film making group in Korea in the 1970s, which is a crucial factor in the creation of experimental films. In order to understand the performance borrowed from the experimental film, I will examine the performance from a cinematic point of view and examine the cinema performance and performance cinema which can be divided into two kinds of cinema related performance. It confirms that it was an important formal basis of experimental film creation.

퍼포먼스는 가장 오래된 인간의 예술행위 중 하나다. 모든 인간들은 연기하는 DNA를 가지고 있다 해 도 과언이 아니다. 아들, 배우자, 선생님, 작가 등 사회와 문화는 다양한 역할로서 개인을 규정하며 인간 들은 그 규정된 역할에 맞게 행동하게끔 교육되어 왔다. 각 역할에 맞는 적합한 행동을 우리는 매일 연기하고 행위 하고 있는 것이다. 따라서 영화와 퍼포먼스는 대단히 밀접한 관계다. 더욱이 초기 한국 실험영화 류의 범주로 포함될 수 있는 그림자극 <만석중놀이>와 <의리적 구토>로 대표되는 연쇄극 형식 은 퍼포먼스와 적극적으로 결합된 영화 형식 표현이다. 또한 변사로 대표되는 변사 류 <무성영화>의 경우도 시네마와 퍼포먼스가 결합된 라이브 시네마(Live Cinema)의 확장된 퍼포먼스 영화형식으로 볼 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 이렇듯 퍼포먼스 형식이 실험영화 창작에 매우 중요한 요소로 자리 잡은, 70년대 한국 최초 여성 실험영화 집단인 <카이두>의 작품들에서 찾아볼 수 있는 퍼포먼스 형식에 관해 논의해 보려 한다. <카이두> 실험영화에 차용된 퍼포먼스를 이해하기 위해 퍼포먼스를 영화적 관점에서 넓게 조망하고, 영화매체 퍼포먼스의 두 종류라 분류할 수 있는 시네마 퍼포먼스와 퍼포먼스 시네마에 관해 고찰해 퍼포먼스 형식이 <카이두> 실험영화 창작의 중요한 형식적 기저였음을 확인한다.
