This paper compares Husserl’s Phenomenology and seon master Daehaeng’s Dharma talks in the point of seeking the contact between ‘philosophy’ and ‘religion’. From that point of view, this paper also follows the genealogy of ‘comparative study of phenomenology – Buddhism’. However, even in this genealogical universality, the particularity of this paper is that the Buddhist implications of Husserl’s phenomenology are sought in seon master Daehaeng’s Dharma talks. In particular, this paper focuses on comparing the concepts of ‘Transcendental Ego’ and ‘Hanmaum Juingong’ which contain the fundamental principles of Husserl’s phenomenology and seon master Daehaeng’s Dharma talks. I will examine common things mentioned through these concepts, For example giving meaning to all beings, composition of the world, mutual subjectivity between all things, that it is not inherent and can not be shaped or defined etc, trace a common underlying orientation in Husserl and seon master Daehaeng. In this process, seon master Daehaeng’s Hanmaum Juingong thought converges on Husserl's phenomenology, Furthermore I will show that seon master Daehaeng’s Dharma talks can function as an easy translation of an intricate phenomenology.

본 논문은 근원적 지평에 대한 사유로 ‘철학’과 ‘종교’의 접점을 모색한다는 차원에서, 후설 현상학과 대행선사 설법을 비교 고찰하는 것으로 구성된다. 이 점에서 본 논문은 궁극적이고 절대적인 기반탐색의 경로를 교차 연구한 ‘현상학-불교사상의 비교연구’의 계보학을 따르는 것이기도 하다. 하지만 이러한 계보학적 보편성 속에서도 본 논문의 특수성은, 후설 현상학의 불가적 함의를 고찰하는 준거를 한마음선원장을 역임한 대행선사(大行禪師)의 설법 속에서 구한다는 점에 있다. 특히 본 논문은 후설 현상학과 대행선사 설법의 근본원리를 담은 ‘초월적 자아’와 ‘한마음 주인공’ 개념을 비교 고찰하는 것에 중점을 둔다. 이들 개념을 통해서 기술되고 설해지는 공통의 사항들, 이를테면 모든 존재에 대한 의미부여, 세계의 구성작용, 만물 간의 상호주관성, 본질근원의 영역이면서도 형상화하거나 규정할 수 있는 어떤 경험적 대상이 아니라는 점 등을 검토하여, 후설과 대행선사 사상에서의 공통적인 근원·원리적 지향을 추적하도록 한다. 이러한 과정을 통해 대행선사의 한마음 주인공 사상이 후설의 현상학적 지평과 조우한다는 것, 나아가 난해한 현상학의 수월한 번역으로서 대행선사 설법이 기능할 수 있다는 것을 밝히고자 한다.
