The purpose of this study is to report the experience of female physical education teacher over two years from a narrative perspective. The study was conducted from March 1st, 2015 to February 28th, 2017. Over the course of this study, researcher shared the same laboratory with the participant, conducted several in-depth interviews, occasional interviews, as well as daily conversation. All of the scenes were recorded and analyzed in a indirect way to participate. The various data collected were illuminated by the traditional narrative view of Connelly and Clandinin and this researcher attempted to derive empirical knowledge through the process of inductive analysis. As a result, This research divided into three themes, namely 'immersing in physical education' concerning the participants’s reasons to become a PE teacher, 'Becoming a professional Physical educator' concerning the participants’s interest in PE class and school sports club and getting to know them, and 'long way to go as a PE teacher' concerning the participant’s regrettable challenge to improve PE class as well as personal self -direction. From the narrative point of view, it can be divided into temporal context, social aspect, and spacial aspect. The results of this study can be meaningful not only to understand female physical education teachers with long career and diverse experiences but alow to consider ways to support them based on this understanding of their lives.

이 연구는 초등교사로 28년간 근무하던 여교사가 처음 체육전담교사를 맡은 2년간의 경험을 내러티브적인 관점에서 살펴보고 그 의미를 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 2015년 3월 1일부터 2017년 2월 28일까지를 연구기간으로 정하였으며 이 기간은 연구참여자인 28년차 초등 여교사가 체육전담교사로 근무한 기간과도 같다. 2년간의 기간 동안연구자와 연구참여자는 같은 연구실을 사용하였고 수차례 심층면담과 수시 면담, 일상적인 대화 장면들을 기록하였으며, 간접참여방법으로 수업의 장면까지 기록하고 분석하였다. 수집된 다양한 자료들은 Connelly와 Clandinin의전통적인 내러티브적 관점으로 조명되었으며 귀납적인 분석의 과정을 거쳐 경험적 지식을 도출하고자 하였다. 연구결과 체육전담교사를 선택하게 된 계기와 동기 등을 담은 ‘체육에 발 담그기’, 체육수업과 학교스포츠클럽 등에 관심을 가지고 알아가는 ‘나름 체육전문가’, 더 나은 수업과 자기 주도적인 도전의 아쉬움을 담은 ‘아직 먼 길’로 주제화되었다. 이러한 삶을 내러티브 3차원적 탐구공간의 관점에서 찾아 본 의미는 과거, 현재, 미래의 시간적인 맥락과주변인과의 관계 맺음으로 말할 수 있는 사회적인 측면, 은신처로서의 체육전담과 수업장소에 관한 장소적 측면으로 나누어 볼 수 있었다. 이러한 연구결과는 경력이 많은 여교사가 체육전담교사로 살아가는데 겪는 다양한 경험들을 이해하고, 그 삶에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 그들을 지원해줄 수 있는 방안을 고민해 볼 수 있는 자료로서 의미 있다 하겠다.
