The purpose of this study is to review on papers for auxiliary verbs in Korean and to research issues and tasks of papers on auxiliary verbs in medieval Korean and early modern Korean. The papers to review in this study are 491 papers that are studied on Korean auxiliary verbs or related subjects with Korean auxiliary verbs. They are concentrated on modern Korean studies. Studies for medieval Korean and early Korean make up very small part even if including diachronic studies. List of auxiliary verbs , the degree of grammaticalization of auxiliary verbs and their meanings that are connected with aspect and modality are still being discussed in studies on medieval Korean and early modern Korean. Since 2011, papers of master degree in Korean Linguistics are increased and they are numerically similar with papers in journal. Recently, it is increasing on reaserch in Korean linguistics that are research topics of education for foreign learners studying Korean and contrastive linguistics are increasing on research in Korean linguistics.

이 연구의 목적은 국어 보조용언 연구 업적을 개괄하고, 중세와 근대국어 보조용언 연구의 쟁점과 앞으로의 과제를 살펴보는 것이다. 이 연구의 주된 검토 자료는 보조용언 관련 논문 491편이다. 보조용언 연구는 현대국어에 편중되어 있고 중세․근대국어 보조용언 연구는 통시적 연구를 포함해도 매우 적으며 근대국어 시기별 보조용언 연구는 특히 적다. 중세․근대국어 보조용언 연구에서는 목록, 상과 양태 의미, 문법화 등의 부분에서 여전히 논의가 진행 중이다. 보조용언 판별 기준과 선행용언 연결소 범위 한정도 아직 미진한 상태이다. 2011년 이후 보조용언 관련 석사 학위 논문 편수가 급증하여 학술지 논문 수와 비슷해졌고, 최근에는 외국어와의 대조연구, 한국어 교육 측면 연구와 외국인들의 연구 업적이 증가하고 있다.
