Theology is the study of God. Nonetheless, theology and humanities share a common goal of making humans more human and better. In this respect, the Old Testament theology written in the background of the life and history of the ancient Israelites is also inseparable from the humanities. Specifically, the Old Testament theology is closely related to the humanities in a methodological way. In this paper, I will examine how the Old Testament theology has developed in close relation with the field of humanities and read the Old Testament from the viewpoint of ‘History, Literature and Philosophy.’

신학은 신의 문제를 다룬다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 신학과 인문학은 인간을 더 인간답게, 더 나은 인간을 되게 하고자 하는 공통의 목적을 공유한다. 이 점에서 고대 이스라엘 사람들의 삶과 역사를 배경으로 기록된 구약성서신학 역시 인문학과 불가분의 관계에 있다고 할 수 있다. 구체적으로 구약성서신학은 방법론적으로 인문학과 밀접하게 연관을 맺고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 구약성서신학이 얼마나 인문학의 제분야와 밀접한 연관을 맺으며 상호 발전해 왔는지를, ‘역사, 문학, 철학으로 읽는 구약성서’라는 관점에서 살펴보고자 한다.
