This paper examines the types of mistranslations found in Indonesian-Korean literature translation and suggests that linguistic analysis is essential for a more appropriate translation. Specifically, this paper investigates the following existing translations: (1) a novelette called Sri Sumarah, written by the prominent Indonesian novelist Umar Kayam; (2) a war record, Tjatatan Korea, written by the Indonesian novelist Mochtar Lubis; and (3) examples in four articles of modern Indonesian literature. The results of the study reveal that there are five types of mistranslations in Indonesian–Korean translations, namely word, word formation, syntactic structure, omission of content, and addition of content. With regard to the types of mistranslations, this study suggests solutions that may improve the quality of Indonesian–Korean translations, and consequently concludes that linguistic analysis is undeniably important to facilitate appropriate Indonesian–Korean translation.

본고는 인도네시아어-한국어(이하 인-한) 문학 번역에서 관찰되는 오역을 유형별로 고찰하는 것이었다. 또한 언어학적 분석이 보다 합당한 번역물을 산출하는 기본 바탕이라는 것을 제안하는 데 그 목적이 있었다. 특히 본고는 인도네시아 대문호 우마르 카얌(Umar Kayam)의 중편소설 “Sri Sumarah”, 목타르 루비스(Mochtar Lubis)의 종군기“Tjatatan Korea”, 그리고 인도네시아 문학 관련 네 편의 논문 속에 나타난 예들을 대상으로 인-한 문학 번역의 오역 사례들을 찾아보았다. 이를 위해 인-한 오역 사례들을 단어, 조어법, 통사적 구조, 생략, 그리고 추가 등 다섯 가지의 유형으로 나누어 분석하였다. 이와 관련하여 인-한 문학 번역의 질을 개선할 수 있는 방안들을 제시하였다. 결론적으로 언어학적 분석이 합당한 인-한 번역을 추구하는 데 그 무엇보다 중요하다는 것을 강조하였다.
