This paper addresses the purpose of philosophy that Ludwig Wittgenstein thought by criticizing the interpretations of therapeutic model on his philosophy. Did Wittgenstein think of philosophical problems as disease? And did he himself think that his philosophy is a therapy of such disease? Is it appropriate to interpret his philosophy as a medical model? To examine the therapeutic reading of Wittgenstein‘s philosophy, it seems necessary to consider the character of philosophical problems and their solutions, the status of the resolution, i.e. the results of philosophical activities that he thought. According to him, philosophical problems begin with a misunderstanding of the workings of our language. What he calls "a grammatical investigation" is nothing but to solving this kind of problem. Through a grammatical investigation we get a perspicuous representation and clarity on our use of language. This clarity is the way we look at things and a ‘Weltanschauung’. It is also the accomplishments of person who got a perspicuous representation of our use of language. Further, it is a change of attitude that we obtain by overcoming resistances of the will. According to his account, philosophical problems are solved by looking into the workings of our language, and the purpose of philosophy is to get this clarity. The clarity is not the state before we fell into philosophical confusions, but the state that is actively attained by a grammatical investigation. It is not something that is given before the activity of philosophizing, but something that had to be obtained by the activity of philosophizing. For Wittgenstein, the subject of philosophy is not a particular philosopher's mind in confusions, but our use of language. Thus, It is a very narrow understanding of Wittgenstein‘s philosophy to define the clarity as a being cured of a disease.
