Korean classical scholars regarded music as a tool for expressing the ideals and philosophy of life, not a simple means of performance and appreciation. This music culture appeared most prominently in the chosun Dynasty, and its representative example was Takyeonggeum which directly was made and played by Takyeong Kim, Ilson. Takyeonggeum, the oldest existing Geomungo, is designated and preserved as the National Treasure No. 957. The way of life and spiritual values pursued by Kim, Ilson can be verified through the Takyeong Anthology and Geummyeong which has been engraved on the instrument. If these historical and cultural materials can be reconfigured and taught in the form of a story by using the storytelling teaching and learning models, they can be efficiently utilized in educating the role and value of music which was cherished by our ancestors. Therefore, this paper aims to provide the understanding of the spiritual values inherent in the music of Korean classical scholars by utilizing the storytelling teaching and learning methods based on the integrated contemplation through interdisciplinary study. This author expects to continue more studies for vitalizing Korean music education through academic sharing in a variety of areas related to Korean music.

우리 조상들에게 음악은 연주와 감상을 위한 단순한 수단이 아닌 삶의 철학과 이상을 표출하는 존재이기도 하였다. 이러한 선비들의 음악 문화는 조선시대에 가장 두드러지게 나타나는데 대표적인 사례가 탁영 김일손이 직접 제작하여 연주한 탁영금(濯纓琴)이다. 탁영금은 현존하는 최고(最古)의 거문고로 보물 제957호에 지정되어 보존되고 있는데 김일손이 추구했던 정신적 가치와 삶의 모습은 악기에 새겨진 금명(琴銘)과 탁영문집을 통해 확인이 가능하다. 이러한 역사․문화적 소재는 스토리텔링 교수․학습 모형을 적용하여 이야기 형태로 재구성한 후 지도한다면 조상들이 생각했던 음악의 역할과 가치를 교육하는 데 효율적으로 활용될 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 본고에서는 다양한 학문과의 연계를 통한 통합적 고찰을 토대로 스토리텔링 교수․학습 방법을 활용하여 음악에 내재된 선비들의 정신적 가치를 이해할 수 있도록 하고자는 데 목적이 있다. 국악과 관련된 다양한 영역의 학문적 공유를 통해 국악교육이 활성화 될 수 있는 기반이 마련되어 지속적인 연구가 진행되기를 기대한다.
