Northeast Asia, Korea, China, and Japan, is intertwined with maritime dispute issues. If the sovereignty over Dokdo is a Korea-Japan issue, the territorial dispute of the Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands is between China and Japan. There is no issue of sovereignty between Korea and China, but there is also an issue of the exclusive economic zone of the waters around Ieodo. It needs to be solved the conflicts and disputes over the territorial rights of the three countries in Northeast Asia and the maritime jurisdiction through bilateral and multilateral approach. This article analyzes the differences between China, Taiwan and Japan regarding the Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands dispute and the understanding of the UNCLOS (UN Convention on the Law of the Sea). Based on the analysis of the dispute over Dokdo territory, we seek directions for improving the Korea-Japan relationship in the future. In conclusion, we propose a multilateral solution of maritime territorial dispute for peace in Northeast Asia.

한･중･일 동북아 3국은 해양분쟁 이슈로 서로 얽혀 있다. 독도 영유권 문제가 한･일간 이슈라면 일･중간 센카쿠열도/댜오위다오 영유권 이슈가 있다. 한･중 간에는 영유권 이슈가 없지만 이어도 주변해역의 배타적경제수역 경계획정 이슈가 있다. 동북아 3국간 도서영유권과 해양관할권을 둘러싼 갈등과 분쟁은 한･일, 일･중, 한･중간 양자적 접근을 통한 해결과 함께 한･중･일 다자적 논의를 통한 해결 모색도 병행할 필요가 있을 것으로 보인다. 이 글은 이러한 기본 입장 하에 센카쿠열도/댜오위다오 분쟁을 둘러싼 중국, 대만, 일본 간 입장과 유엔해양법협약에 대한 이해의 차이를 분석할 것이다. 그리고 한･일간 첨예한 분쟁 이슈가 되고 있는 독도영유권 분쟁에 대한 분석을 토대로 향후 한･일 관계 개선을 위한 방향성을 모색할 것이다. 결론에서는 이러한 두 분쟁 이슈에 대한 분석을 바탕으로 동북아 평화를 위한 해양영토분쟁의 다자적 해법 모색을 제언할 것이다.
