The purpose of this study is to examine the status of Baduk's marketing of Korean Baduk and to find ways to develop the Baduk culture contents that reflects the needs of consumers and the cultural character of it. Therefore, from April to September 2016, we reviewed of literature and semi-participation observation of Korea Baduk Association. In addition, we gathered diverse opinions centered on the field through in-depth interviews and round-table discussions for Baduk specialists. Through this analysis, we analyzed the marketing situation of Baduk tournament, publicity project and dissemination project of Korea Baduk Association and suggested strategic alternative for enhancing cultural image of Baduk as follows. First, integrated marketing strategies such as developing identity of Korea Baduk Association and diversifying marketing channels are needed. Second, story marketing strategies such as creating a space for communication between Baduk fans and the public are needed. Third, there is a need for an interactive marketing strategy to increase the loyalty of Baduk fans and secure new Baduk fans.

본 연구는 한국 바둑의 본산인 한국기원의 바둑 마케팅 현황을 검토하고 분석하여 바둑의 문화적 특성과 수요자의 요구가 반영된 바둑 문화콘텐츠를 지속적으로 양산하고 발전시킬 수 있는 방안을 제시한다. 이를 위해 2016년 4월부터 9월까지 문헌자료 검토와 한국기원 활동의 준 참여관찰을 수행하였다. 또한 바둑 전문가들을 대상으로 한 심층인터뷰와 라운드 테이블 토론회를 통해 현장 중심의 다양한 의견들을 수집하여 한국기원의 기전사업, 홍보사업, 보급사업의 마케팅 현황을 분석하여 바둑의 문화적 이미지 제고를 위한 전략적 대안을 다음과 같이 제안하였다. 첫째, 한국기원의 아이덴티티를 개발하고 마케팅 채널을 다양화 하는 등의 통합 마케팅 전략이 필요하다. 둘째, 바둑계의 프로기사들의 이야기를 스토리텔링하여 바둑팬과 대중과의 소통 공간을 조성하는 등의 스토리 마케팅 전략이 필요하다. 셋째, 바둑팬의 충성도를 높이고 신규 바둑팬을 확보하기 위한 쌍방향적 소통의 참여 마케팅 전략이 필요하다.
