We study the characteristics of medical instrument and supplies industry using the input-output table of Korea 2000 to evaluate the weaknesses and the strengths of Gangwon Province's hosting medical instrument and supplies industry. Using the biproportional adjustment approach, we estimate the regional input-output table for Gangwon Province, from which we derive various dispersion effects of medical instrument and supplies industry in Gangwon Province. Based on our findings, we suggest policies for nurturing medical instrument and supplies industry in Gangwon Province and also propose in-depth follow-up studies at the firm level.

본 연구에서는 산업연관표를 이용하여 한국 의료기기산업의 투입산출 구조의 특성을 파악하고 강원도의 경제구조의 특성을 의료기기산업의 특성과 대비시킴으로써 현시점에서 강원도와 의료기기산업의 상호적합성을 평가한다. 또한 양비례조정법을 이용하여 간접적으로 추계한 강원도의 지역산업연관표를 이용하여 의료기기산업의 역내 생산유발효과, 영향력계수, 감응도계수, 취업유발효과 등을 계산하여 강원도의 의료기기산업 육성이 현시점에 강원도 경제에 미칠 수 있는 파급효과를 분석한다. 분석결과를 토대로 의료기기산업의 효과적인 육성을 위한 정책들을 도출하고 본 연구의 한계를 극복하기 위해 필요한 후속연구를 제안한다.
