The issue how to deal with the controllable categorical factors which are involved in most production processes in Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) has not been figured out perfectly while a couple of good approach to deal with uncontrollable categorical factors. This paper suggests a new approach to find the efficient category value of controllable categorical factors by estimating the different production frontier for each category value of a categorical factor from other category values. It is possible to identify the efficient category value for each categorical factor by the new approach which is suggested in this paper.

통제 불가능한 범주요인을 다루는 문제와는 달리 오늘날 대부분의 생산 과정이 포함하는 통제 가능한 범주요인을 데이터포락분석에서 다루는 문제는 그리 성공적이지 못하다. 이 논문은 이러한 통제 가능한 범주요인을 데이터포락분석에 포함시켜 효율적인 범주요인 값을 찾을 수 있는 한 방법을 제안한다. 이 방법은 범주요인이 갖는 각 범주 값 별로 다른 효율적인 생산 곡선을 추정하는 방법에 기초한다. 이 방법을 통해 각 의사결정주체는 생산과정에 영향을 미치는 각 범주요인에 대해 효율적인 범주요인 값을 발견할 수 있다.
