This paper estimates R&D spillover effect using the firm data of Korean manufacturing industries during the period of 1979-2002. The production function is assumed to be of the extended Cobb-Douglas form with three factors of production - labor, physical capital and R&D capital. In particular, R&D capital is disaggregated into the own and outside R&D capital (R&D spillovers). According to estimated results, the elasticity of output with respect to outside R&D capital from other industries is slightly higher than that to own R&D in across the industries and firm size categories with 200 or more employees in Korea.

본 연구에서는 우리나라 제조업의 연구개발 파급효과를 추정하였다. 1979년부터 2002년까지 외부감사를 받는 기업의 재무관련 자료를 이용하여 노동, 물적 자본 외에 자체연구개발자본과 외부연구개발자본(연구개발파급)을 포함한 콥다글러스 생산함수를 추정하였다. 추정 결과 대부분의 산업에서 외부연구개발자본의 산출탄력도가 자체연구개발자본의 산출탄력도보다 높게 나타났다. 기업규모별로는 종업원 규모가 200인 이상의 기업에서 외부연구개발자본의 산출탄력도가 자체연구개발자본의 산출탄력도보다 높게 나타났다.
