As for the effects of macroeconomic policies upon industrial employments, empirical studies have been proceeded. Macroeconomic policies considered here are government expenditure policy, tax policy and monetary policy. Results of simulations imply that the government expenditure policy is more effective than the tax policy. Even though effects of government expenditure policy and monetary policy cannot be directly compared, it has been found that effects of 1% increase in the central government's expenditures are similar to those of 0.5% point decrease in the overnight call rate.

거시경제정책이 산업별 고용에 미치는 효과에 관한 실증분석이 이루어졌다. 여기에서 고려된 거시경제정책은 재정지출정책, 조세정책 및 금융정책이며, 산업은 ‘한국표준산업분류’상의 대분류 산업이다. 산업별 고용함수 등의 추정에 기초하여 수행한 모의실험의 결과 재정지출정책의 효과가 조세정책보다 큰 것으로나타났다. 재정지출정책과 금융정책의 효과는 단순비교하기가 어려우나 중앙정부세출의 1% 증가의 효과와 콜금리 0.5% 포인트 인하의 효과는 비슷한 것으로 나타났다.
