According to data from February 1999 to July 2010, there was a positive relationship between Korean productions and oil prices. However, the oil price rises does not Granger cause the inflations. The relationship between oil productions and oil prices makes it possible to identify the main causes of oil price changes. The supply driven oil price changes did not affect production, while the demand driven oil price changes did. Therefore, the main causes of oil price changes are important when we investigate the effect of them.

1990년 2월부터 2010년 7월까지 우리나라의 생산활동은 유가와 양의 상관관계를 보였다. 그러나 유가상승이 물가상승을 유발시키지는 않았다. 원유생산량의 변동과 유가변동간의 관계를 통해서 유가변동의 원인이 원유시장의 수요측면인지 공급측면인지를 구별하였다. 유가변동의 원인을 공급요인과 수요요인으로 분리하여 분석한 결과 분석기간 중 공급충격으로 인한 유가변동은 생산에 영향을 주지 못했다. 그러나 수요충격으로 인한 유가변동만 생산에 영향을 주었다. 한편 물가로 미치는 유가변동의 영향은 없었다. 따라서 유가변동이 생산, 물가에 미치는 영향을 해석할 때, 그 변동의 요인차이도 감안해야 한다.
