Through education, human beings have a basic idea about human nature and form values, norms, and values that society demands. Especially, in order to cultivate the desirable human resources required in the international society in the era of internationalization, countermeasures in the field of education should be specifically prepared and actively implemented. To this end, education reforms at the national level, opening up the education market, informatization of education, advancement of the educational system, and strengthening the autonomy of learners are actively promoted. In particular, efforts are being actively made to nurture the leaders of the international society through international citizenship training and international expert training. These international education programs are actively pursued not only in elementary, middle, high school, university, but also in lifelong learning. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the overall contents of internationalization of elementary, middle and high schools. In particular, the objectives of the research are as follows. First, analyze the perception of internationalization. Second, analyze the perception of internationalization program. Third, analyze the participation in internationalization program. Fourth, analyze factors affecting internationalization program. Fifth, we will explore ways to revitalize internationalization programs.

인간은 교육을 통하여 인간본성에 대한 기본적인 사고를 하며, 사회가 요구하는 가치, 규범, 가치관 등을 형성한다. 특히, 국제화 시대에 국제사회에서 요구하는 바람직한 인력을 양성하기 위하여 교육 분야의 대응책도 구체적으로 마련되어야 하며, 적극적인 시행이 요구된다. 이를 위하여 국가적 차원의 교육과정개편, 교육시장개방, 교육정보화, 교육계의 선진화, 학습자의 자율권 강화 등이 적극적으로 추진되고 있다. 특히, 국제화 교육을 통하여 국제시민의식함양, 국제 전문인력양성 등을 통한 국제사회의 리더를 양성하기 위한 노력이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이러한 국제화 교육은 초, 중, 고등, 대학 뿐 만 아니라 평생학습에서도 활발하게 진행되고 있지만 그에 대한 성과와 점검차원의 구체적인 활동은 미비하다. 따라서 본 연구는 일선 초, 중, 고등학교현장에서의 국제화에 대한 전반적인 내용을 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 특히, 구체적인 연구목적은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 국제화에 대한 인식(중요성)분석, 둘째, 국제화프로그램에 대한 인식 분석, 셋째, 국제화 프로그램참여 분석, 넷째, 국제화프로그램에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대한 분석, 다섯째, 이를 통한 국제화프로그램 활성화 방안을 모색한다.
